McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II DVD

This DVD is a collection of seven films on the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II fighter. The F-4 was a tandem two-seat, twin engine, all-weather, all purpose premier aircraft of the 60's. The F4 Phantom first flight was in May 1958 and it was introduced into the US Air Force in December 1960.

The F-4 Phantom top speed was Mach 2.2 and the F4 also broke many speed records over its life. The F4 Phantom became the primary aircraft for the Navy, Marines and the Air Force during the Vietnam war. As of 2021, 63 years after its first flight, the F-4 remains in active service with the air forces of Iran, South Korea, Greece and Turkey.

Film #1 - F-4 - A McDonnell Aircraft Co. film on the US Navy various uses of the F-4 Phantom II on the aircraft carrier CV-60, USS Saratoga. From a fast interceptor to an all-weather bomber in Vietnam, the Navy F4 Phantom was the best in its era. Runtime is about 15 minutes.

Film #2 - Diamonds in the Sky - A McDonnell Douglas film of the Blue Angels flying the famous F-4 Phantom II. Runtime is about 14 minutes.

Film #3 - Sidewinder and the Phantom - A Navy Weapons Center training film shows maintainers who test the Sidewinder missile on an F-4 Phantom. Please note, there is a very racy pinup girl the Chief puts up on the side of the F-4 to keep the student's attention. Runtime is about 15 minutes.

Film #4 - Ready on Arrival - A USN film on the aircraft carrier CV-61 USS Independence in action of the coast of Vietnam. F-4 Phantoms, A4 Skyhawks, A6 Intruders, S2 Trackers, etc. all in daily takeoffs and landings. Runtime is about 28 minutes.

Film #5 - F-4 Phantom Recon Missions - A Marine Corps film on using the F-4 Phantom as reconnaissance aircraft. Photo, infrared, or radar were used on their missions to collect intelligence. Runtime is about 15 minutes.

Film #6 - F-4 Phantom and FAC - A short film on a coordinated attack using a L-19 Cessna as the "Forward Air Controller" to direct F-4 Phantom bombers on a Vietnam target. Runtime is about 4 minutes.

Film #7 - F-4 Phantom II Newsreels - 1st: A 2 minute film on the Blue Angels using the F-4. 2nd: A4s and F-4s land on the carrier CV-67 USS John F. Kennedy. 3rd: The F-4 Phantom sets a new speed record. Runtime is about 7 minutes.
