The Best of Kai Tak is a (2) DVD video set that covers Hong Kong's now-closed Kai Tak airport that was situated very close to the city's high-rise buildings. There are actually two separate videos in this set.
The first video is Hong Kong - Airport Action which was filmed at Kai Tak in December 1994 just before the end of the Cathay and Dragonair Tristar era. There was excellent weather, great locations around the airport, and fantastic video action. Over 70 aircraft from over 45 airlines were filmed close-up either landing or taking off. Run time is 60 minutes for this DVD.
The second video Hong Kong 98 - Last Look at Kai Tak was filmed about 6 weeks before the airport closed. It features over 100 aircraft from 50 airlines filmed from airside locations. Includes the famous curved approach filmed from the flight deck of a Virgin A340 as well as views of an amazing crosswind landing. In addition, there are views over the airport from a helicopter. The professional video and sound of this DVD runs about 90 minutes.
