The Boeing 777 is the world's largest twin jet airliner with a capacity of over 300 passengers. It's also Boeing's first fly-by-wire airliner. The B777 was introduced in 1995 and there have been several variants over the years mainly to increase range. The Boeing 777 airliner is enabled for long-haul flights because of ETOPS (Extended Operations) regulations in the 1980s that specify at least 180 minutes flying time from an emergency diversionary airport for twin-engine airliners.
