The Spitfire arrived in history just in the nick of time. Hitler was on a terror campaign and he was convinced that England would fall through airpower. Ironically the little Spitfire went toe to toe along with the famous Hurricane airplane and beat off the powerful German Luftwaffe at the time. Without German Air supremacy, Operation Sea Lion was cancelled.
