A Brief History of the Cessna 152 Aircraft
The Cessna 152 is a multi-purpose civil aircraft manufactured by the Cessna Corporation in Wichita, Kansas. It is a two person fixed landing gear aircraft that is mainly used for training and general aviation purposes. With dual controls in the Cessna 152 cockpit, the aircraft is one of the most popular for training purposes.
The Cessna 152 is descended from the popular Cessna 150 model which was first flown in the late 1950s. The Cessna 152 was first introduced in 1978.
The Cessna 152 uses a Lycoming O-235 engine, developing about 110 hp. The cruise speed is about 123 mph with a range of about 477 miles. The airframe is primarily of aluminum construction.
Approximately 7500 aircraft were built during the Cessna 152's eight year production life which ended in 1985.
