From as far back as 1980, aviation journalist and photographer Ron Mak, and later on his brother Chris, recorded South American propliners in action on film and ultimately digital video.
Using the latest film and video restoration techniques, this DVD has some stunning images of big props at work in Venezuela, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and especially Columbia.
The highlights of twenty years of propliner action have some superb C-46s in both Nicaragua and Columbia, including a landing at an island airstrip. Villavicencio, Columbia had dozens of DC-3s plus DC-6s, C-46s and AN-32s and even a Catalina. Chris and Ron's superb airside access brings it all to you in great close-up action.
With thrilling rides on a DC-3 and DC-6, one-engined landings, a low-level beat up by a DC-3 and one of the last operational Caravelles, this DVD is a must for any vintage airliner enthusiast.
In NTSC DVD format and region-free. The runtime is 75 minutes.
