Description

Four years ago, we came across some wonderful color film taken at Blackbushe Airport UK in 1959. Shown on the film were the following: Continental, Orion, Pegasus and Eagle Viking, Trans Arabian DC-4, an Eagle DC-6 in a very early color scheme, Dan Air Yorks and Ambassadors plus some of the early Farnborough Air Show visitors that used to park at the airport back then.

Then, there is a look at many UK and Irish airports such as Dublin and Shannon during the next couple of decades. Among the regional airports are Liverpool with British Eagle DC-4s and arrivals at Cardiff Airport in Wales that include a Catair Super Connie and a Trans-Union DC-6. At London's Southend airport, one can see abandoned Channel Airways Vikings, Dove and Bristol Freighter, action on the ramp in British Air Ferries's heyday with Carvairs, Viscounts and Heralds. Prestwick Airport has a good mix of 1960s jetliners and military types that are refueling before making their Atlantic crossings.

Heathrow Airport makes an appearance with fascinating visits to BOAC's maintenance hanger with Boeing 707s, Comets, DC-7C, Britannia and VC-10. Also includes BOAC's only Canadair CL-44 turboprop. Manchester Airport includes 707s and DC-8s along with a BOAC 747 and an Aer Turas DC-7. At East Midlands Airport, we have the TMAC CL-44 Guppy, an ex-RAF Argosy and an Air France Concorde. Luton Airport contributes Court Line 1-11s, Monarch Britannias and Donaldson and Britannia 707s. At Gatwick Airport, you can be on the flight deck of a BEA Airtours Comet and take a trip in a Transglobe Britannia.

Scenes from Dublin take you from 707s to 747s with some very interesting aircraft on the way. Also, further material for Shannon as well.

In NTSC DVD format and region-free with a runtime of about 60 minutes.
