This DVD is a B-29 documentary containing vintage films on the Boeing B 29 Superfortress bomber. The B-29 plane was the biggest, most destructive aircraft ever created by man up to and during WW2. Nothing could fly farther and carry more bombs than the B-29. It truly was a marvel of technology.
There are five WWII B-29 movies on this DVD:
Film #1 - The Birth of the B-29 - This is the story about building and using the mighty B-29 Super Fortress. Runtime is about 21 minutes.
Film #2 - How to fly the B-29 - A great USAAF training film on the flight characteristics of the B29 bomber. From pre-flight to takeoff, to in-flight operations and landing the massive B-29 aircraft. Runtime is about 36 minutes.
Film #3 - B-29 Photos and Clips - A collection of rare B-29 photos, clips and rare photos. Runtime is about 6 minutes.
Film #4 - USAAF B-29 Newsreels - This is a great collection of B-29 newsreels:
- B-29 Mine Laying
- Ditched B-29
- Attack against the Philippines
- B 29 bomber salvaged
- New Transport C-97
- Anatahan recovery mission
- B 29 Saipan New Airbase
- Another attack on the Philippines
These are mini B-29 movies and very rare. Runtime of about 23 minutes.
Film #5 - B-29 Test Flight Stock Footage - A film made by the USAAF and used for stock footage of the B-29 Super Fortress. Very good footage of the mighty B-29 Super Fortress dancing with the clouds. Close-ups of the engines, B-29 bomb bay, landing gear lowered and raised in flight, beautifully banking, level flight closeups and then landing on a Pacific island. Probably Kweilin. We added the sound and voice track collected from other films for texture. Runtime of about 11 minutes.
Total runtime for the Boeing B29 Superfortress WWII Bomber DVD is about 97 minutes. Format is NTSC DVD and region-free.
