This DVD is a collection of very RARE films on the famous US Navy Douglas A-4 Skyhawk. The amazing little Skyhawk was designed to replace the aging AD-1 Skyraider. Because the Skyhawk was a very efficient design with a delta wing, it did not need to have folding wings. Thus, it was very light, fast and reliable. What an aircraft! We hope you'll enjoy.

Film #1 - ID the A-4 Skyhawk - This is a great Navy film on the A-4 Skyhawk and its visual characteristics. We added extra footage of great carrier action for you to enjoy as well. Runtime is about 9 minutes.

Film #2 - A-4 Skyhawk Blue Angels - This Navy film is about a day in the life of the Blue Angels and their team as they go from airshow to airshow in America. See the pilots and crew as they go through their routines. Another great film with runtime of about 14 minutes.

Film #3 - Ready on Arrival - This is a great US Navy film on the importance of the US Navy's role around the world. Narrated by Alexander Scourby, lots of carrier action and A-4 Skyhawks, plus many other Navy aircraft at the time. Runtime of about 28 minutes.

Film #5 - VADM James Stockdale, POW - This is a story most folks don't know about. James Stockdale was a Naval A-4 Skyhawk pilot from the carrier USS Oriskany that was shot down over North Vietnam. He was held captive for the next 7 years as a POW and was the guiding light for all of the other downed pilots that were unfortunate to be POWs at the famous "Hotel Hilton" in North Vietnam. Adm Stockdale was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions as a POW. Amazing story. Runtime of about 9 minutes.

Film #6 - Search and Rescue - This film is about a A-4 Skyhawk pilot that had to ditch his plane after he was hit on a bombing run over North Vietnam. As he parachuted into the sea, a Sea Sprite, Sea King and a AD Skyraider went after him to rescue him. Great footage of all aircraft and methods. Runtime of about 14 minutes.
