Description

This film is a real cold war scare film and it takes you back to the mindset of the day. Narrated by General Thomas S. Power, the commander and chief of the Strategic Air Command.

Filled with lots of good aviation images of the day, including missiles and missile operations. Explosion tests from atomic bomb tests are shown.

B-52 and other SAC aircraft are shown in operation. The philosophy of hardening is presented. Hardening will not prevent our communications systems and other critical services from being damaged in a nuclear attack but if hardened it will protect us from a total collapse.

About 33% of the SAC strike force is on alert on a 24x7 basis. Crews must be airborne within 15 minutes of attack notification.

Some crews are on airborne alert. They are always airborne and ready to strike.

The Titan and Minuteman missiles are being readied for deployment. Special trains will carry railcars which house minuteman missiles and they will be launched from trains as needed. A model is shown.

This film includes many scenes around SAC, including a B-52 crew running for their plane.

In NTSC DVD format, B+W and region-free with a runtime of about 11 minutes. Please note that because of the age and rarity of these films, quality can vary. Packaged in a clear plastic C-Shell case without paper graphics.
